Spring is blooming
Spring has finally decided that it's going to stick around here in Central Illinois. This morning we took the boy-o to the U of I Horticulture Club's annual plant and flower sale. We forgot the checkbook (doh!) and only had enough cash to buy one sedum, but it was still a fun experience. Then we headed over to the Spurlock Museum on campus to see activities they had going as part of the annual Boneyard Arts Festival. When we got there, Leo decided he didn't want to see the children's concert of world music (mostly drumming) and instead only wanted to the various craft projects they had set out. We still had a good time, and Leo didn't want to leave. We can't believe we've been here almost two years and we hadn't been to that museum yet! We'll have to go back soon so we can see some of the actual exhibits. After that we went to Rosati's for lunch and had pizza--mmmm! On the way home, Leo announced that when he grows up he wants to fix things. One of his recent favorite library books is Albert the Fix it Man. Another favorite phrase these days is "You crack me up!" He got that from his from his former teacher Miss Randi (who's now the asst principal of his school, because she used to say it to him all the time).
