weighty matters

Leo's new afternoon teacher Ms Karla has been continuing the great learning opportunities that his morning teacher Ms Kacey has been doing. Yesterday when I picked him up, Leo and his class were discussing what animals wear. Karla had a poster with "skin" "fur" "feathers" and "scales" on it, and as she held up pictures of different animals, the children had to tell her what category they should go in, and then she glued the pictures on the poster. Today she told me that they weighed all of the kids and determined that even all together they don't weigh as much as a baby elephant. When I went to pick him up Leo was actually in the pre-K room. They needed to balance their numbers and the teacher in that room (I can't think of her name at the moment) told me that Leo is a good candidate when they need to move some of the kids over because he is calmer and gets along with the older kids nicely. Today Leo was pretending that Cameron was a doggy by putting a toy stethoscope around his neck and leading him around the room.
