Today you are one year old. Mama and Papa can't believe it! You have turned from a little baby boy into a little big boy right before our eyes. The last week or two have brought tremendous growth in your language and mobility skills--today you took your first string of independent steps! You've been saying "bawl" =ball nonstop. At daycare this morning Miss Gayla asked you what color your ball was and I thought I heard you say "blue". Miss Gayla said "every ball is blue"--which makes me think you've said this to her before. You're also doing an interesting sound that involves sticking your tongue out, sort of like bladabladabladablada--hard to describe, but incredibly cute. We occasionally hear you say "no," but it's not often and it's usually in a pleasant tone. You are happy and smiley and the sweetest boy.

Tuesday night you ate out with Mama and Papa after we picked up Papa's new car. Mama put a piece of lettuce from Papa's plate in front of you and you politely picked it up and put it back on his plate. You were also checking out the cute waitress something fierce! You turned all the way around in your highchair to watch her walk all the way back to the kitchen. We thought she was going to take you home with her, she was so enamored of you. What a ladies man!
Papa's new car and the new carseat in it mean you get to ride facing forward when you ride with him--we'll turn your other seat around after the Thanksgiving trip. Papa says you seemed to like watching the scenery yesterday on the way home.
Your stacking cups have become favorite toys again, as you have discovered the nesting feature. You also like to put things in and take things out of containers. You still love scooting with your scooter and have discovered the joys of the kitchen cabinets. The bulk spice drawer is one of your favorites--let's toss the spice bags everywhere!
Halloween is coming up and I won't reveal what your costume will be--we'll post pictures. You'll have a few opportunities to "trick or treat". It should be lots of fun. We aren't having a big party, but some family will be in town this weekend, so we will celebrate then.Mama and Papa love you so much little 'Bug!
