Thursday night, Leo started running a fever of ~103. It was my (Jeff's) turn to stay home, especially because 4 of my 5 classes were taking a test that day. He spent much of Thursday night doing lots of coughing, and I ran into school between 6 and 7 to be sure things were set for the sub.
Leo didn't really nap on Friday, some of which may have been two ill-timed phone calls, one from Kirstin checking on things and one from a smellosolicitor (who would not take no for an answer -- I had to hang up on him).
More coughing Friday night, and more intermittent fever.
No nap on Saturday, either. Cranky boy, cranky parents.
Let it be noted: he did sleep in until about 7:45 on Saturday, and until 7 on Sunday.
Sunday: two hour nap (yay!), major coughing and freak-out fit afterward (boo!). Trip to convenient care ensues. The doctor there didn't have the best of bedside manners, especially with a toddler, and especially when it came time to try to get a look down his throat.
She thought she might have heard something in one lung, and prescribed antibiotics along with a follow-up visit with his regular pediatrician later in the week.
We tried putting him down a little earlier than usual tonight, but he hasn't fallen asleep yet (I just got to the keyboard from 10 minutes rocking with him).
And a PS: Happy Mother's Day to any moms who read this, whether it's on Mother's Day or not. Especially to the Mom who, as far as Leo is concerned, is the most important one of all.
