Splash!

Last night we went to the end-of-year departmental party for Jeff's work. It was a good sized party and a fair handful of kids--at least four others within a year or so of Leo. The party was a potluck and held at the home of one of Jeff's colleagues who loves to garden. His front and back yards were elaborate, including a huge vegetable patch. There was also a small koi pond that all of the kids were fascinated with. We were taking bets on who would be the first to fall in--and Leo was the only one to win that distinction. He was in no danger as everyone was watching all of the kids--but no one could get to him fast enough before he managed to fall in and soak his pants and shoes. Thank goodness one of the other parents (thanks M!) had brought extra pants for her boy and loaned them to us, or we would have had to go home before getting dinner. Leo was not at all phased by his adventure, just kind of took it in stride. He enjoyed going barefoot for the rest of the evening.
